Kottayam: Two people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a jeep and a lorry near the Government Polytechnic College on MC Road on Tuesday. The deceased were passengers in the jeep, while the three injured were seated at the back of the lorry.

The accident happened around 2:30 AM. The jeep driver, Sanosh (55), a resident of Thodupuzha, was one of the deceased. The second victim is reported to be from Tamil Nadu.

The jeep, which was completely wrecked, was removed by the fire department.
