Two men have been arrested in Kannur of Kerala for allegedly killing a python and cooking its meat, with forest officials seizing the carcass.

Kannur (Kerala): Two men have been arrested in north Kerala’s Panapuzha for allegedly hunting a python and cooking its meat, Forest officials said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as U Pramod and C Bineesh, are both residents of Panapuzha.
According to Forest officials, the duo tracked down an adult python from a rubber plantation near their home on Wednesday evening. They then killed the reptile and prepared a curry at Pramod’s residence.
Acting on a tip-off, Thaliparamba Range Officer Suresh P and his team raided the house and apprehended the two men. Portions of the snake, along with the cooked curry, were seized from the spot.
A case has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act.
The accused were produced before a court on Thursday and later remanded to judicial custody, officials added.
