Vadakara: In a shocking incident, two people were found dead inside a parked caravan near Karimbanappalam on Monday.

While carbon monoxide buildup from the air conditioning is suspected to be the cause of death, the police have not yet confirmed this. When the bodies were discovered, both the AC and parking lights were reportedly on. Authorities are considering all possible explanations.

Forensic experts, fingerprint specialists, and the dog squad are scheduled to conduct a thorough investigation on Tuesday. As night-time investigations were deemed less effective, all procedures have been postponed until daylight hours. Rural SP P. Nithinraj and other officials arrived at the scene on Monday night.

The vehicle was parked at the entrance of the road leading to the KTDC restaurant near the national highway at Karimbanappalam. Due to its location near a busy road, the parked caravan had not drawn much attention earlier.

However, once the incident came to light, hundreds of people gathered at the spot. To manage the crowd, the police cordoned off the area around the vehicle using ropes.

The relatives of the deceased, along with the caravan’s owner, have left for Vadakara.
