Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvonam bumper lottery is proving to be a huge hit, with more than 23 lakh tickets already sold. Most of the tickets printed are nearly sold out, with Palakkad district leading in the sales.

To combat issues with fraudulent online and WhatsApp lottery schemes, the department has stepped up its awareness efforts. The campaign emphasises that state lottery tickets are only sold in Kerala and exclusively in paper form. In addition to Hindi, the awareness campaign has also been expanded to Tamil to reach a wider audience.

The Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery for this year was officially introduced on Wednesday, with the top prize set at Rs 25 crore across ten series of tickets. The launch event, originally scheduled for July 31, was delayed due to the recent landslide disaster in Wayanad. Each ticket for the Onam bumper lottery is priced at Rs 500.
