The couple, originally from Nagapattinam district, had reportedly boarded the wrong train and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident

Malappuram: A 33-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu sustained head injuries after falling from a moving passenger train near Tanur in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.
The woman, who was travelling with her husband, has been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and is currently in a stable condition, according to authorities.
The couple, originally from Nagapattinam district, had reportedly boarded the wrong train and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. "The woman had a ticket to Coimbatore, but the train she fell from was not headed there," a Tanur police official stated.
The incident occurred around 1 am near Tanur. While the woman fell from the train, her husband alighted at the next station, Parappanangadi, and alerted the station master, who then contacted local police.
Remarkably, despite her injuries, the woman managed to reach a nearby house, where the residents immediately informed the authorities. She was initially taken to the local taluk hospital and later referred to Kozhikode Medical College for further treatment.
Police have launched an inquiry into the sequence of events leading up to the fall.
