Aroor: With the commencement of schools after holidays, several school buses were found violating traffic rules and exceeding prescribed speed limits.
According to data obtained from the Suraksha Mitra platform, a GPS-based vehicle tracking and monitoring system, as many as 385 school vehicles in the state violated the speed limit of 50 kilometres. Of this, 352 vehicles even crossed 70 kilometres.
Following this, the transport commissioner has directed to take action in this regard within seven days. So far, data collected pertains to 25 days from June 5 to 30 this academic year.
In short, nearly 400 violations took place within 86 sub RT offices across 14 districts in 19 days.
