Sabarimala: Traffic regulations will be imposed in Sabarimala on December 26 as part of the Thanka Anki procession. The Travancore Devaswom Board has informed that police will be deployed to regulate the movement of pilgrims from Pampa to Nilakkal.
Pilgrims who arrive at Nilakkal post 11 AM on December 26 will have to spend a minimum of three hours at the place before embarking on further journey. The adjustments in time have been made in accordance with the rituals at the sanctum sanctorum.
The Sabarimala shrine usually opens at 3 PM. However, there will be a delay on the day of the procession.
Meanwhile, the pilgrim centre is preparing for the Mandala puja festivities. The Thanka Anki procession will reach Saramkuthi on Tuesday evening. The sacred golden attire to be adorned on Ayyappa idol will be handed over to the priests in an elaborate ceremony. A ‘Maha Deeparadhana’ will be conducted after this. Following this, the devotees will get a chance to offer prayers in front of the Ayyappa idol.
The Mandala Pooja is scheduled on December 27 morning. Devaswom board president PS Prashanth has informed that changes in timings have been made as per the requirements.
