Kozhikode: Left Democratic Front (LDF) convenor T. P. Ramakrishnan has slammed P. V. Anvar in the wake of his allegations against the Kerala Chief Minister.
He stated that the behaviour of the MLA, who is part of the LDF, is unacceptable, and that the intentions behind Anvar’s actions are becoming clearer. Ramakrishnan noted that Anvar's incursion is part of a conspiracy hatched at certain centres and added that serious consideration will be given to taking action against him.
"The Chief Minister is the leader of both the front and the government. The intention behind attacking the Chief Minister is to undermine the leadership. There have been previous attempts to target Pinarayi. The Chief Minister has faced criticism before too and has emerged from it brilliantly," he said.
Ramakrishnan specifically noted that Anvar's views do not represent those of the CPM or the LDF.
"No one will accept attempts to mislead the party. The people will reject his stance. Anvar has not been expelled from the parliamentary party; it is Anvar who has claimed he will leave. The decision on any action will be made by the party," he said.
According to the LDF convenor, Anvar is a weapon in the hands of the enemies of the LDF and CPM, and he criticised him for carrying the legacy of Congress.
In response to the allegations raised by Anvar regarding the funeral of CPM veteran Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, the LDF convenor clarified that the decision was made after discussions with both the family and the party.
Meanwhile, CPM Kozhikode District Secretary P. Mohanan criticised P. V. Anvar for making baseless allegations, emphasising that he doesn't even understand the fundamentals of CPM politics.
