Kodi Suni, key accused in the murder of RMP leader on May 4, 2012, had earlier made headlines for using a mobile phone inside jail.

Kannur: Three civil police officers were suspended after accused persons in the TP Chandrasekharan murder case, including Kodi Suni, were found consuming alcohol in police custody.
The incident reportedly took place on July 17 while the accused were being transported to the Thalassery Additional District Court from Kannur Central Jail.
The suspended officers, Vaishakh, Vineesh, and Jishnu, were attached to the Armed Reserve (AR) camp.
According to reports, along with Kodi Suni, accused Mohammed Rafi and Shinoj were also present during the incident.
The accused were taken to a nearby hotel for lunch after the court proceedings. It is alleged that during this time, friends of the accused arrived at the hotel and provided them with alcohol, which was consumed in the presence of the police escort.
Following the revelation, an internal inquiry was conducted, leading to the suspension of the three officers involved.
