Munnar: Three students lost their lives on Wednesday when a tourist bus overturned near Eco Point, Mattupetty.

The deceased have been identified as R. Venika (19), R. Adhik (19), and Sudhan (19), all students of Scott Christian College in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu.

Venika and Adhik succumbed to their injuries at a private hospital in Munnar, while Sudhan passed away at a private hospital in Rajakkad. Sudhan was initially being transported to Theni Medical College Hospital, but due to the severity of his condition, he was admitted to the hospital in Rajakkad.

Another student, Kevin (20), has been shifted to Theni Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

The accident happened when the tourist bus, carrying students from Kanyakumari to Munnar on an excursion, overturned upon arrival.

The bus reportedly had a total of 40 passengers, including three staff members from Scott Christian College.
