Wayanad: Forest officials in Cheeral finally turned successful in capturing the tiger that has been on the prowl in the locality for nearly one month. The big cat that kept the residents on toes fell in the trap placed near Pazhoor forest checkpost on Friday morning.

The tiger has been shifted to the palliative care unit for big cats in Sultan Bathery.

The officials have been tracking the tiger’s route the other day. Following that a new cage was placed to entrap the tiger.

It turned successful and the officials have saved their face from the angry outbursts of the residents over forest department’s interventions.

The tiger has been present in the human habitation since a month, suggested reports. It has attacked 13 domestic animals.
