Kelakom: A tiger was spotted on the Adakkathode-Kariyam Kappu road in the daytime on Saturday. The locals captured the visuals on their mobile phones and without much delay the officials of the forest department confirmed the animal’s presence in the area.
Soon, a cage was placed in the Hameed Rawther colony in Vaalumukku to capture the tiger. A curfew has been declared in the Adakkathode town and in the sixth ward till 4 PM on Sunday.
The animal was first spotted by Bobby and Babu around 1:30 PM yesterday when they were returning on a scooter after finishing tapping works. The tiger was seen crossing the road and entering a rubber plantation.
Four students who spotted the tiger ran for their lives.
