According to police, the duo was attempting to smuggle the contraband in a Swift car when officers signalled them to stop

Thrissur: Police have arrested two men with approximately 35 kg of ganja on the Perumbilavu–Pattambi road in Thrissur. The operation was carried out by the police and the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSARF).
The accused, identified as Sanal (24) and Mubashir (25) from Malappuram district, were apprehended during a raid conducted around 5 am on Wednesday. The seizure was made based on a tip-off received by the DANSARF team.
According to police, the duo was attempting to smuggle the contraband in a Swift car when officers signalled them to stop. However, they allegedly ignored the instructions and tried to escape at high speed.
In an attempt to evade the pursuing police, the accused reportedly rammed their vehicle into a car belonging to District Anti-Narcotics Squad Sub-Inspector Rakesh. Despite the impact, police managed to overpower and arrest them.
Officials said Sanal is a known offender listed at the Kunnamkulam police station for anti-social activities. During preliminary questioning, the accused reportedly stated that the ganja was brought into Kerala from Bengaluru.
Both accused are currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway.
