A destitute family in Thiruvananthapuram desperately appeals for help as their three young daughters battle cerebral palsy in a cramped, unfinished room.

Thiruvananthapuram: On the upper floor of an unfinished building, in a cramped space that hardly feels like a home, 15-year-old Blessy lies bedridden and drenched in sweat, unaware of even her own name. On the other side is six-and-a-half-year-old Angel, unable to attend school due to her illness. Elsewhere, four-and-a-half-year-old Sara lies close to her mother's chest, her left side completely paralysed, leaving her unable to walk or speak. This is the heart-breaking reality at the home of Satheesh Kumar and Bincy at Kunnumthurath in Peroorkada here. All three children are in this condition due to cerebral palsy.
The family is struggling to find the means for medical treatment and daily expenses. Among them, only Angel can speak. Despite their illnesses, Blessy and Angel are enrolled at the Ambalamukku Government Girls High School; Blessy is in Class 7 and Angel is in Class 1.
With no land or house of their own, the family lives in a confined space consisting of just one room and a kitchen on the top floor of Satheesh’s brother’s house. All three children are undergoing treatment at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. Although they applied for government housing schemes several times, the results were disappointing.
An application for financial aid was submitted to the Chief Minister during the previous government's tenure, but no assistance was received.
A bank account has been opened in Blessy’s name at the SBI, Ambalamukku branch for financial assistance.
