Thiruvananthapuram: Seema Maurya (26), who graduated from Banaras Hindu University with a degree in Bharatanatyam is now serving meals on Kerala's Vande Bharat train.

Seema previously worked as an accountant, computer operator, and dance teacher for a while but needed a more stable job to provide for her family.

With the help of a few friends, she reached Delhi and began preparing for UPSC examinations. That is when she saw the advertisement for the post of food server in Vande Bharat and she later got appointed in Kerala.

Seema is the third of five children in the Varanasi-based family. Her father is a fruit vendor. Her mother was the first to notice Seema’s natural aptitude for dance. She began learning dance when she was studying in 5th standard. While pursuing a BPA degree, she used to teach dance and work on accounts to pay her fees.

Although she wanted to get a postgraduate degree as well, her circumstances did not allow it. Amidst all this, her father fell ill and with the marriage of her two elder sisters, the responsibility of the family fell upon Seema’s shoulders.

Despite the circumstances, Seema is optimistic and hopes to take up dancing once again someday.
