Kozhikode: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has scheduled his meeting with the leaders of various Islamic organisations in Kozhikode on Friday. 

Tharoor will meet Samastha president Sayyid Muhammad Jifri Muthukoya Thangal, KNM leaders TP Abdulla Koya Madani and Hussain Madavoor today. 

Shashi Tharoor has decided to meet leaders in Kozhikode with the permission of the Congress party, following his controversial visit earlier which attracted the wrath of many Congress leaders. 

He will inaugurate the EV Usman Koya commemoration meeting organised by Kuttichira Mandalam Congress committee and deliver a speech over the challenges faced by secularism in the nation. 

Kozhikode DCC president Praveen Kumar will not attend this event and had informed the party to avoid any controversies caused by his non-participation in an event attended by Shashi Tharoor.
