Three fire force teams are on the scene, with efforts to bring the blaze under control

Kannur: A massive fire broke out at a plastic recycling unit in Thalassery on Saturday. The blaze occurred at the Kandikkal Industrial Estate. Officials said there were no workers inside the building at the time of the incident.
Fire and rescue teams from Thalassery, Mahe and Panur have rushed to the spot and are continuing efforts to bring the flames under control.
There are reports that gas cylinders are stored in the warehouse, raising concerns about the intensity of the fire. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained. Workers managed to evacuate the premises after noticing the fire spreading.
Kandikkal is located along the bypass stretch between National Highway 66 and Thalassery town.
