
Thiruvananthapuram: Tenkashi native Sharafuddin has won the first prize of the Christmas-New Year Bumper lottery worth Rs 12 crore. He is a lottery ticket seller by profession and the ticket which won the prize remained with him as it was not sold.
Although Sharafuddin is a Keralite by origin, he is settled in Tenkasi along with his family. He bought the lottery tickets for sale from an agency in Aryankavu. Out of all the lottery tickets, only one remained unsold and that ticket won the bumper prize of Rs 12 crore.
Sharafuddin told the media that he buys the tickets from the agency with a lot of hope each time and that he has won small amounts in the past. He also added that he has nothing in mind regarding how he is going to spend the prize money.
Sharafuddin’s father and mother hail from Kerala. He is married to a woman from Aryankavu.
