Thiruvananthapuram: It is reported that by- election in the state would get delayed. Both Chief Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner of the state hinted at this while answering questions from journalists at a press conference here on Sunday.
Usually, Election Commission of India asks the Chief Election Commissioner their opinion regarding the by- election. However, Teeka Ram Meena said that he will express his opinion after the state government makes it stance on the matter clear. He also said that there is enough time till May for this.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the government is now focused on fighting coronavirus disease in the state at the moment. The CM said this when he was asked about the by-election. By- election in the state will take place in Kuttanad and Chavara constituencies.
