Rajapuram (Kanjagad): ‘I have cough, my dear children. I will take rest of the portions in the next class...’ the teacher ended the class with this dialogue, collapsed and died at the very same spot.

The deceased was identified as Kallar native C Madhavi (47). She was a teacher at Government Lower Primary School Adottukaya in Kallar. There was no one at her home when she collapsed. She had earlier informed her nephew Ratheesh of fatigue and sickness. When he arrived at her home, he saw her lying on the floor. Although she was rushed to Taluk Hospital in Poodamkallu, her life could not be saved. 

The online class started at 7.30 night on Wednesday. She was taking mathematics class for third standard students. ‘Please turn on the video, I want to see everyone,’ teacher told the students in her last class.

The students and parents are left heartbroken after the teacher’s death. The teacher started coughing a few minutes after the class started. When the students asked her if she was okay, she responded saying it was just a normal cold. She ended the class by giving homework to her students.
