Tamil Nadu native 27-year-old novice found dead in TVM

Thiruvananthapuram: A young aspiring nun who was an inmate of a convent here was found hanging inside her bedroom on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Annapoorani (27), a native of Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place at Rosminian Convent in Vettuthura, Channankara. The novitiate was found dead after other inmates checked on her as she failed to appear for morning prayers.

A suicide note was also found inside the room which stated that she decided to kill herself as she was not qualified to be a nun.

As per reports, Annapoorani arrived at the convent a year ago. As part of her studies, she had gone to Maharashtra for rendering social services and returned last month.

Annapoorani was alone in her room at the time of the incident. The Kadinamkulam police, led by Attingal DySP, are undertaking further proceedings in the matter.
