Thiruvananthapuram: The prisons department has handed over the letter given by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) demanding an investigation into leakage of an alleged audio clip of Swapna Suresh, to Police. 

The jail department has demanded a proper investigation into the incident.

Jail department chief, Rishi Raj Singh has handed over the letter to state police DGP, Lokanath Behera. Initially, the jail department did not respond to the letter sent by ED. Following this, the ED gave the letter to Rishi Raj Singh for the second time. However, the jail department has not officially confirmed receiving this letter.

DGP Lokanath Behera will take a decision on ED’s demand for an investigation in the leaked audio clip. Earlier, the police had decided not to investigate the matter.

An online portal had released the audio clip allegedly of Swapna Suresh. It was stated in the audio clip that investigation agencies were forcing her to give statements against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Although the audio clip did not mention anything about ED, news reports came out stating that ED was forcing Swapna to give statements against the CM. 

It is reported that Customs department will also demand an investigation as Swapna has been charged with COFEPOSA.
