Swapna's journey from bar business in Gulf to UAE consulate in TVM
Thiruvananthapuram: The details regarding the personal life of Swapna Suresh, the key accused in the gold smuggling case, is slowly trickling in. In 2002, she got married in Gulf.
Then she had been operating a bar business along with husband there. However, one fine morning, she returned to Kerala without even informing her husband which resulted in divorce.

However, she remarried and later became an employee of the UAE consulate.
At present she owns assets worth crores. A building is under construction in the heart of the city. Real estate business and car shop are among her deals. While working at Air India SATS, she was paid Rs 24,000 per month. Also there are documents of her salary while in the consulate.
The probe team is looking into her asset increase after this. While smuggling gold once, she was paid Rs 15 lakh, as per reports.
