Adimali: Actor-BJP leader Suresh Gopi visited Mariyakutty, the old woman who protested against the state government for not releasing welfare pension on time. The prominent actor met the woman around 8:30 AM on Friday. The visit is looked upon as the actor’s way of expressing solidarity with Mariyakutty, in her fight against the authorities. It should be noted that the old woman had mentioned about the ongoing case against Suresh Gopi while interacting with the media in the previous days.

The actor told Mariyakutty that he would continue questioning the state government on where the central funds were disappearing. Meanwhile, the old woman accused the Pinararyi-led government of engaging in extortion by putting the blame on BJP. “See I don’t have a yellow card. People of the state are scared of their CM. In my entire life, I have never been governed by such a chief minister,” Mariyakutty expressed her disappointment.

Suresh Gopi pointed out that an additional charge of Rs 2 is being levied on every litre of petrol bought by people in the state. “The CM had earlier stated that additional money collected will come in handy while distributing pensions among poor people. But we now know the reality. The people in the state shall stop the practice of paying additional money for petrol, a notice citing the loot shall be sent to petrol companies including Indian Oil as well. Our state government isn’t trustworthy,” lamented the actor.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi vowed to give Rs 1,600 each to Mariyakutty and Annakutty from his MP’s pension in the coming months.
