Thiruvananthapuram: The price hike of 13 subsidised goods supplied through Supplyco will be decided only after detailed negotiations. The items are still being sold at subsidised prices compared to the 2016 market prices.
Supplyco has informed the civil supplies department that it cannot continue to provide goods at the current prices which prompted the LDF to approve the price hike.
Minister G.R Anil said that discussions with Supplyco officials will begin after November 15 and no suggestion has been put forth regarding how much the hike should be.
There are also plans to revise the list of subsidised goods. It will be examined whether any other high demand items should be added or excluded from the existing list.
