Kochi: Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) has increased the quantity of Sabari K-Rice provided under subsidy. From July, each ration card holder will receive eight kilos of K-Rice. The distribution will take place twice a month.

One of the rice varieties—Matta, Jaya or Kuruva—will be provided as K-Rice.

In total, each cardholder will continue to receive 10 kilograms of rice per month under the subsidy. Earlier, a maximum of five kilos of K-Rice was included in the 10 kilos, with the remaining being raw rice. The subsidised price for K-Rice is Rs 33 per kilo, while raw rice is priced at Rs 29 per kilo.
