Kasaragod: Unfazed by the criticisms over the years, KPCC president K Sudhakaran has once again made derogatory remark against Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan by calling him a toddy tapper’s son.

He made the remark while addressing a gathering during the inauguration of the KPCC protest march ‘Samaragni’.

“Even top leaders of CPM have spoken against the Kerala government. Pinarayi is not ruling for the welfare of the state. He is rather ruling for the welfare of his family,” Sudhakaran said.

“See, a toddy tapper’s family flourished into a position to own a company like Exalogic now,” the KPCC president said.

Notably, Sudhakaran had made derogatory remarks against Pinarayi even in the past, 2021 to be precise, sparking widespread outrage in the state. People from his own party ranks had condemned his statement back then.

Meanwhile, AICC general secretary Deepa Das Munshi asked her party workers in Kerala to “fiercely fight against the fascist government in the centre and the mafia government in Kerala.”

Rajmohan Unnithan had presided over the meeting. Veteran Congress leaders, including Ramesh Chennithala, M.M. Hassan and Kodikunnil Suresh, participated in the event.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan equated alleged Modi-Pinarayi ties to that of Hitler-Stalin during World War II.

“The Kerala CM who had so far claimed that he has not engaged in any corruption now suddenly looks all sacred as the investigation on CMRL case is progressing,” Satheesan told the media in Kasaragod.
