South Central Railway has announced special trains and service extensions to manage the heavy pilgrim rush to Sabarimala this season.

To manage the heavy pilgrim traffic during the Sabarimala season, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced six special train services and the extension of two existing services between various destinations and Kollam/Charlapalli. These services aim to ease travel for devotees heading to Kerala.
Four special trains to Sabarimala
SCR will operate six Sabarimala special train services on selected dates:
- Train No. 07125 Narsapur – Kollam (1 service on December 27, 2025)
- Train No. 07127 Charlapalli – Kollam (2 services on January 10 and January 17, 2026)
- Train No. 07126 Kollam – Charlapalli (1 service on December 29, 2025)
- Train No. 07128 Kollam – Charlapalli (2 services on January 12 and January 19, 2026)
These trains will stop at major stations including Vijayawada, Tirupati, Katpadi, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla and Chengannur, offering convenient connections to Sabarimala. All services will include AC, sleeper and general compartments.
Extension of existing services
Two special train services have been extended to cater to the additional rush:
- Train No. 07117 Sirpur Kaghaznagar – Kollam (1 service on January 3, 2026)
- Train No. 07118 Kollam – Charlapalli (1 service on January 5, 2026)
