Palakkad: A special investigation team has been formed to probe the murder of CPM local committee member Shajahan, who was hacked to death at Marutharode in Palakkad on Sunday night. The team will be headed by Palakkad DySP.
Shajahan was killed at around 9.15 PM near his house on Sunday.
"A group of eight people reached and attacked Shajahan near his house yesterday night," said police. The police also stressed on the possibility of a political rivalry in the case.
"He was accused in a political murder case and we suspect this too is a part of political rivalry," added police.
CPM alleged that RSS-BJP group was behind the murder. But the BJP has refuted this claim.
