New Delhi: As the agitation of ASHA workers intensifies in Kerala, the state government plans to bring the issue before the central government. KV Thomas, Kerala’s special representative in Delhi, will meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman regarding the ongoing agitation.

“The ASHA workers' project was introduced by the central government. The role of the Kerala government is to provide honorariums to the workers. Kerala is the state that offers the highest honorarium in India and also provides the best wages. In this context, the issues raised by ASHA workers are legitimate. When this issue emerged in Kerala, it was brought to the attention of the central government,” K.V. Thomas told Mathrubhumi News.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be in New Delhi on March 11 and 12 and will hold discussions with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and others.
