Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted information related to the Hema Committee report to the Kerala High Court. The SIT informed the court that 33 cases are currently active, out of which 11 are based on complaints from a single survivor, as stated by the police.

The court had directed the SIT to provide updates on the progress of investigations. The SIT also informed the court that four cases had been closed due to lack of sufficient evidence.

The High Court had earlier directed the appointment of a nodal officer following reports that those who provided statements before the Hema Committee were receiving threatening messages. It has been reported that the government has already taken action on this matter.

A group of petitions related to the Hema Committee report is pending before the High Court's division bench. A special bench was previously constituted by the High Court for this matter.

Among the petitions, two hold considerable importance and are currently before the division bench. One of these was filed by the WCC (Women in Cinema Collective), demanding the introduction of an interim code of conduct in the film industry. The organisation has also raised concerns about whether all complainants were heard by the Hema Committee.
