Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor MP has expressed support for K Muraleedharan’s comments, in which he accused the Congress party of ignoring him at the Vaikom Satyagraha centenary meet. Tharoor stated that it was a serious error on the party's part to treat Muraleedharan in such a way and that it was inappropriate to insult a leader of his stature.
During the event, Ramesh Chennithala and MM Hassan were given opportunities to speak as they are former KPCC presidents. Tharoor questioned why the party did not also give a chance to another former KPCC president who was present at the same event.
"K Muraleedharan is not only a senior leader of the party, but also a former KPCC president and the party’s election committee chairman. Therefore, it is not appropriate for the party to humiliate him," said Tharoor.
Meanwhile, Tharoor stated that he had no complaints about not being given a chance to address the audience during the centenary celebrations.
