Pathanamthitta: Thushar Vellapally, Vice President of the SNDP Yogam and NDA Convener, has clarified that comments made by Vellapally Natesan reflect his personal views and do not represent the political stance of the SNDP Yogam.

Speaking at a press conference in Pathanamthitta, he emphasised that the SNDP Yogam is not endorsing or supporting any party in the upcoming elections.

“The General Secretary expresses opinions based on his own perspective and knowledge. Any official decision of the SNDP Yogam can only be made after a council meeting,” Thushar said. He added that the organisation does not follow any policy to aid or oppose any political front.

Earlier, a proposed unity initiative between the SNDP Yogam and the Nair Service Society, seen as potentially influential in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, has formally fallen through. The collapse comes amid a sharp public exchange between their leaders, Vellappally Natesan and Sukumaran Nair, with both sides offering differing explanations for the breakdown. The development came as a big blow to Natesan.

Compounding his challenges, the Kerala High Court on March 12 ordered the removal of Natesan and other office-bearers from their positions in SNDP Yogam. The ruling followed findings by the Department of Registration that they had violated the Companies Law by failing to file audited accounts for three consecutive years, starting from 2023.
