Surendran, Suraj, Surya and Renuka
Kollam: Suraj, prime accused in the snakebite murder case in Kollam, confessed that he had made the cobra starve in a bottle for 11 days before using it to kill his wife Uthra. On April 24 to May 6, the snake was kept in a bottle without being fed, he said.
Suraj also said he was frightened when the cobra hissed at him, while trying to throw it on Uthra’s body.
He also revealed that the crime was committed between 12 am and 12.30 am and that he had used a viper snake on Uthra at midnight earlier.
Meanwhile, it is known that no relevant information was obtained after Suraj’s mother Renuka and sister Surya were interrogated the other day and they may be quizzed again.
They told the probe team that they didn’t know that Suraj would kill Uthra. However, they confirmed that Suraj had brought home snakes many times. Renuka said that her husband Surendran K Panciker had shown her the place where Uthra’s gold ornaments were buried and Surya confessed she had helped Suraj to abscond.
At the same time, Surendran will be taken to various places including Adoor bank, by probe team for evidence collection.
