Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has once again stressed on the strict enforcement of the ban on single-use plastic cups and plates in government offices. 

The action came after the employees’ repeated violation of the ban on single-use plastic products in offices. 

The Kerala government had banned the manufacture, sale, storage and transportation of single-use plastic in January 2020. 

As per the rules, there is a ban on the use of single-use plastic products such as paper cups, plates and plastic coated cups for the distribution of food and drinks. 

Instead, washable utensils made of steel, glass and ceramic materials should be used for the purpose.
