Thiruvananthapuram: Sidharthan’s family has made serious allegations against the state government regarding the death of their son, a student of Pookode Govt Veterinary college who died following a mob trial. Sidharthan's father Jayaprakash told media after completing his son’s 41st day obeisance ceremony, that the Chief Minister and the state government had sabotaged the investigation.
He also stated that the government had sabotaged important information and police investigations that were to be handed over to the CBI. Jayaprakash also added that the move to suspend three people for delaying CBI investigation is ridiculous. He alleged that no action was taken on the report of the anti-ragging committee and Akshay, accused in the case, has not been arrested yet.
Jayaprakash said that SFI leader Arsho’s regular visits to college should also be investigated after taking him into custody along with the girl who filed a complaint against Sidharthan. He said that if no action was taken, he would protest in front of the Cliff House along with an indefinite strike after the health condition of his wife improves. He clarified that the strike is not because the CBI investigation is being delayed, but against the attempt to sabotage the investigation.
Siddhartha (21), a second-year BVSC student from Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, was found dead in the bathroom of the hostel on February 18, following a mob trial after the Valentine’s day celebration at college.
