Kalpetta: The final report of the anti-ragging squad investigating the death of Sidharthan revealed that during the incident where he was assaulted near the college water tank on February 16, there is no evidence to substantiate the presence of a girl with the accused, Kashinathan. The report, endorsed by the anti-ragging committee, is set to be submitted to the university vice chancellor shortly.

However, a dissenting letter authored by a member of the anti-ragging squad criticises the failure to take action against the girl. Although the girl testified that Kashinathan received a call about an issue on the hilltop and heard a voice from there, no proof was found to confirm her presence at the hilltop. The report dismisses her presence as mere hearsay.

Meanwhile, the report also indicates that Sidharthan was compelled to visit Arun's (Union president) room for eight months. The CBI has filed a charge sheet at the special court in Kochi in connection with its probe into the case. 

The commission formulated to investigate the case will begin the procedure for evidence collection on May 29. The commission instituted by the governor will look into the lapses of duty, if any, from the side of teachers and authorities.
