Revised Shoranur–Nilambur passenger timings enhance regional connectivity, restoring pre-COVID travel convenience.

Ottappalam: Passengers from Palakkad and Thrissur are set to benefit from the revised schedule of the Shoranur–Nilambur passenger train.
The train, which previously departed Shoranur at 8.15 pm, now leaves at 7.10 pm, allowing passengers from Thrissur and Palakkad to use connecting services. The change restores a facility that had been in place before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The adjustment follows the launch of the MEMU service from Shoranur to Nilambur at 8.35 pm, which prompted the rescheduling of the 8.15 pm passenger train.
The Shoranur passenger from Coimbatore departs at 4.25 pm, reaching Palakkad at 5.55 pm, Ottapalam at 6.31 pm and Shoranur at 7.05 pm. Passengers on this service can now continue their journey on the Nilambur passenger at 7.10 pm. Similarly, the Thrissur–Shoranur passenger, leaving Thrissur at 5.35 pm and arriving in Shoranur at 6.45 pm, also provides convenient onward travel to Nilambur.
Before the pandemic, a Nilambur passenger train departed Shoranur at 7.20 pm. However, post-COVID scheduling changes had left only 6 pm and 8.15 pm departures, reducing connectivity for passengers from both districts.
