Kochi: Police are set to closely examine the financial transactions of actor Shine Tom Chacko, who was recently arrested in connection with a drug case. During interrogation, the police did not fully trust Shine’s explanation. He had claimed that he fled from the hotel thinking goons were coming to his room. However, investigators questioned this claim, asking why he did not contact the police if he truly believed he was in danger.
City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya told the media that a thorough investigation is essential. he said that statements of some people are being recorded. He also added that it is too early to confirm anything about Shine’s remarks linking the film industry and drugs. He confirmed that the search for drug dealer Shajeer is ongoing and that Shine Tom Chacko may be summoned again if necessary.
Shine cooperating with preliminary investigation
The commissioner stated that the investigation is still in its early stages, and Shine is cooperating. The police stated that more can be said only after the test results come.
Shine has claimed that he maintains only two bank accounts. The police have contacted the relevant banks to obtain the statements of these accounts. Investigators are also analysing the actor’s phone records to check if he had any contact with known drug dealers.
On the day Shine left the hotel, a financial transaction of Rs 20,000 was made from his account via online payment. This transaction is being looked into, and the identity of the recipient is under investigation.
Shine denies allegations by actress Vincy Aloshious
Earlier, Shine Tom Chacko denied the allegations made by actress Vincy Aloshious, calling her complaint false. He claimed the accusations were part of a deliberate conspiracy against him and submitted his version of events in a statement to the police.

During police questioning on Saturday, Shine admitted to having consumed Methamphetamine and Cannabis in the past. However, he denied any misconduct on the film set.
