Kannur: After CPM leader P Jayarajan’s heated response to Yuva Morcha leader’s threat against Kerala Assembly Speaker AN Shamseer stoked controversy, the leader on Friday stated that the latter had criticised an unscientific perspective at the public event and it was not likely that any believer would get offended by the remark.
Taking to Facebook, Jayarajan penned a detailed note over the controversy and wrote, “The Yuva Morcha activists had threatened comrade Shamseer by citing the case of Professor TJ Joseph. They are equating themselves with the Popular Front terrorists who took their revenge.”
Jayarajan noted that he only gave a reply comprehensible by Yuva Morcha. He further added that he would continue to openly oppose the unscientific nonsense and destructive ideas put forth by the Sangh Parivar. “The RSS need not think that they can threaten comrade Shamseer or anyone,” he added.
Earlier, Jayarajan had alleged that a Yuva Morcha leader, in his speech, had threatened to chop off Shamseer's hand, as was done to Professor TJ Joseph by PFI activists in 2010. Jayarajan said that if Yuva Morcha dares to lay a finger on Shamseer, their place will be in the "mortuary." The thought that Shamseer can be isolated is only a delusion. There may be strong resistance from the youth wings against this, the CPM leader added.
