Kochi: Seven women complained to the Kochi Commissioner on Friday evening against the popular tattoo artist here of sexual harassment.
The issue came to public attention following an Instagram post of a survivor. Many others joined her in sharing their similar experiences.
Sujeesh, who runs the 'Inkfected Tattoo Studio' in Kochi allegedly touched the private parts of women without their permission while tattooing.
Meanwhile, the woman who originally posted the ‘Me too’ allegation against the accused on Instagram refused to file a complaint with the police the last day.
The women said that the decision was to go ahead with the case and more people will join in the coming days. Also, the commissioner was fully supportive and promised that they would take immediate action on the complaint.
Following the incident, several tattoo studios in Kochi were raided. Studios that do not have proper licenses and other documents will soon be shut down by police.
