Kochi: Kerala High Court on Thursday cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to veteran writer Civic Chandran in a sexual assault case. The order was issued by the court in a case registered at Vadakara Police Station.  

Earlier, Kozhikode Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail to Civic Chandran in September, citing his poor health. The High Court cancelled anticipatory bail after considering the petition moved by the complainant and state government. 

According to the complainant, the veteran writer sexually assaulted her while attending a book launch event on April 17 in Kozhikode.
