Ottapalam: The Ottapalam police on Thursday issued a lookout notice for an accused in connection with the incident of sexually assaulting a woman after threatening her with a weapon on her neck. The lookout notice has been circulated to find the accused Sudheesh (32), a native of Ambalapara, who is absconding. The action was taken in the sexual assault case of a 31-year-old woman within the Ottapalam station limits. 

The incident pertaining took place on July 5, 2022. The lookout notice has been issued as the accused could not be traced even after four months. 

Sudheesh came to the victim’s house asking for rice. Following which, he threatened the woman using a weapon and sexually assaulted her.  The victim lodged a complaint with the police and gave her statement to the magistrate. 

Sudheesh, who fled the place on a bike, could not be traced by the police. He has been booked under nine charges, including attempt to murder. 

The investigation is being led by Ottapalam police inspector M Suijth.
