
Thiruvananthapuram: The woman who accused Congress MLA Eldhose Kunnapillil of sexual assualt told court on Thursday that the MLA and his aides tried to kill her at Kovalam. The fresh allegation was made at the Thiruvananthapuram court while it was hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Kunnapillil.
The court will pronounce the judgment on the bail plea at 3 pm on Thursday.
The prosecution told the court that Kunnapilli’s phones are yet to be procured. Kunnapillil, who is on the run, will have to surrender if the court dismisses the bail plea on Thursday. He can later approach the High Court. The police have not been able to find the whereabouts of the MLA.
The complainant had on Wednesday asked the court to hear her side before announcing the judgment in the plea. She made the fresh allegation while presenting her side in the court.
On Tuesday, the Crime Branch said that Kunnapillil had been booked under Section 307 of the IPC for attempt to murder based on the statement by the complainant.
Meanwhile, police might take the woman to Kunnapillil’s house in Kochi on Thursday for evidence collection. She had alleged that the MLA raped her at his Kochi house.
