Malappuram: At a time when Kerala Police is rocked by allegations of ruling party MLA, a woman has made allegations against former Superintendent of Police Sujith Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police V.V. Benny, and Circle Inspector Vinod Kumar in Malappuram.

The complainant told the media that Das and Kumar raped her. She also alleged that Das threatened her not to reveal the incident and claimed that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was his uncle. Woman alleged that she was assaulted again and Das made her an offering to a person who introduced himself as a customs officer.

Allegations against Das and other cops
The woman had gone to the Ponnani police station to file a complaint related to a property dispute. According to the complainant, Kumar, who came to her house to hear the complaint, assaulted her there. She then approached Tanur Deputy SP Benny with the complaint, but he misbehaved with her. The complainant also contacted Das, who was the Malappuram SP at the time, to file complaints against these two incidents. She alleges that Das arrived in a luxury car and took her to a house in Chankuvetti, where he assaulted her.

The complainant said she got the courage to speak out against Das only after ruling party MLA P.V. Anvar came forward against him. She has appraised Anvar and is now considering filing a complaint with the Chief Minister, she said.

Meanwhile, DySP Benny, CI Kumar, suspended SP Das dismissed the allegations as baseless.
