Kozhikode: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Kozhikode’s Palazhi area on Tuesday night, as a seven-year-old boy, Ivan Haiban, tragically lost his life after falling from the seventh-floor balcony of Abacus Tower at the Landmark World apartment complex.
The child, son of Mohammed Hajish and Ayisha from Nallalam, was initially rushed to a private hospital in critical condition. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Preliminary reports indicate that Ivan had been sitting on the balcony with his mother before the incident. It is believed that the accident occurred when his younger sibling was being taken inside the apartment, momentarily shifting attention away from him.
Authorities have indicated that the fall appears to be accidental, though a formal investigation is ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances. The child’s mortal remains have been placed at the Kozhikode Medical College mortuary for further procedures.
