Thookkupalam (Idukki): The belligerent outbursts of MM Mani MLA continue to hog the limelight in CPM conferences in Idukki district. After his controversial  “hit back” speech during Santhanpara area conference, in which he had called for retaliation if CPM workers are attacked, he has come up with yet another scorching speech in which he said that Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by communal forces because he preferred not to retaliate.

"It is not our stance to endure and go home after being hit; we must retaliate if attacked. If retaliation leads to cases, we should hire a good lawyer and approach the court. This is how I reached this point, and the party grew," he said during the Thookkukpalam area conference.

He further mentioned, "I have dealt with those who needed to be dealt with." He also requested the media not to create trouble for him by reporting these remarks. M.M. Mani had made similar statements earlier at the Shanthanpara area conference. In that speech, he had said that, many of the leaders of Idukki district had done the same. He also had said that, after hitting the rivals the party should be able to make people accept the attitude of the party as well.
