Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that the DGP held a secret meeting with the Customs House Commissioner with the intention of sabotaging the gold smuggling case.
“Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan used the DGP to make the surprise move after the investigation entered a crucial stage and highly placed CPI (M) leaders were added in the list of accused. The Kerala DGP is functioning as the CM’s aide and adviser. He has become an agent of CPI (M),” the Congress leader alleged.
Since the beginning, the gold smuggling case investigation has been moving ahead based on the understanding between BJP and CPI (M). It is learned that the CM and his aides are trying to influence the BJP national leadership using a fortune teller from north Malabar, who has close links with the saffron party. The CM has the moral responsibility to clarify this, said Mullappally.
The BJP national leadership has been intervening in the gold smuggling case at every stage. The negligence shown by Central agencies in taking CM’s additional private secretary C. M. Raveendran into custody and interrogating him proves this. The probe agencies are providing time for the accused to destroy evidence, Mullappally accused.
It is learned that in their secret statements Swapna Suresh, Sarith and Sandeep had mentioned the names of several ministers in the cabinet, CPI (M) leaders and their family members. The CM is staying in his hometown of Pinarayi, away from election campaigns and is focusing on making secret moves. There is a major conspiracy behind this, alleged Mullappally.
