Kozhikode: In protest of Kerala health minister Veena George "not keeping her promise", Harshina, the victim of faulty surgery in which a pair of scissors was left inside her stomach, is gearing up to protest in front of the secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.
Earlier, Harshina had declared on an indefinite strike outside the Kozhikode Medical College seeking justice. Minister Veena George met her in person and promised to resolve the matter within two weeks.
Harshina decided to move ahead with the strike as there had not been any progress after three weeks. Although she tried to contact the minister, she did not receive any response, she said.
Meanwhile, a police probe is underway into the incident. The surgery occurred on November 30, 2017 at Kozhikode MCH. The scissors left inside Harshina's stomach were removed in September 2022.
