Thiruvananthapuram: A private school bus driver committed suicide by setting himself ablaze. The deceased was identified as Thiruvananthapuram Marathoor native Sreekumar.

Sreekumar set himself ablaze sitting inside an auto rickshaw near the school where he was working as a driver.

Sreekumar was a staff of Kariyakam Chembaka School. He was terminated from the job six months ago following the COVID lockdown.

It is learnt that Sreekumar was facing financial difficulties and was depressed after losing job and this led to the suicide.
